The National Council of Arts Administrators is an organization whose primary purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, the identification of problems, and the generation of shared solutions to the multitude of issues that confront arts administrators in higher education today.

COLLECTIVE FUTURES, the 52nd Annual Conference of the National Council of Arts Administrators, convenes past, present, and future arts leaders of distinct institutional backgrounds to explore the role of collectivity and shared responsibilities in the creative management of resources, pedagogies, and innovations. Within the metropolitan city of Detroit, where community activism, arts activism, philanthropy, and business have facilitated new cultural vibrancy, College for Creative Studies (a private art + design school), Wayne State University (a public university), and Cranbrook Academy of Art (a private, graduate only institution) have come together to propose a consideration of the creative role of collective practices in the building of new futures.
